Showing negative hours

L

Louise Roberson

I have created a timesheet to calculate hours worked -
this total is shown as h:mm. The standard working hours
(7) are then deducted off this to show
overtime/undertime.

It does not work if for example someone works 6h 45m (15
mins undertime) I would like to show -h:mm but cannot
find out how to display "negative" time

any help would be appreciated

Tools/Options/Calculation, check the 1904 Date system checkbox.

Note that this will increase any existing dates in the workbook by 4
years and 1 day, but subsequent date entries will be handled
correctly.

Hi Louise

Set the workbook to 1904 calendar under the Tools > Options menu.

Note that this will set all dates 4 years 1 day off. Post back if that's a problem, there
are macros that changes them back.

You can display negative time only if you change the workbook to use the 1904 date system. If
you do that, then any dates will increase by 1462 days. To correct them you'll have to subtract
1462 from each one. You can do that by putting 1462 in a cell, Edit/Copy the cell, select the
column of dates and Edit/Paste Special and select the values and Subtract options.
