For some reason one of the fields in my subform is not displaying. I Unhide
the field but it never displays. Any idea what might cause that? Thanks.

The order in which fields are displayed in a subform, in datasheet view, is
determined by the tab order. Does the control in question have a fairly high
tab order number? Are you displaying the horizontal scroll bar for the
subform? If the scroll bar display setting is set to None (or vertical only),
and the tab order is high, I suppose it is possible that there is not enough
room to display this control.

Tom,

There is no horizontal scroll bar and I don't see that property in the
subform. Sounds like you're on the right track. Any suggestions ?

Scroll bars is a Format property of a form. Open the subform by itself in
design view. Press the F4 button (or click on View | Properties) to display
the Properties dialog, if it is not already displayed. You should see the
word "Form" in the blue title bar of the Properties dialog. If not, click on
the small black rectangle where the two rulers intersect, in the upper left
corner.

Select the Format tab. You should see an entry for "Scroll Bars".

Tom - the scroll bar is there - I just didn't see it the first time (it's to
the right of the "Search" window in the subform) And the properties for the
scroll bar is set to "Both". So that's not the problem. But I still can't
see the field "Desc" (Description)

I doubt this is the cause of the issue, but you might try renaming this field
from Desc, which is considered a reserved word, to some other name that is
not shown in Allen Browne's extensive listing, here:

http://allenbrowne.com/AppIssueBadWord.html

Note: Desc is a SQL keyword for Descending, as in ORDER BY Fieldname DESC

If renaming does not fix this issue, are you able to send, by private
e-mail, a small test database that replicates the problem?

Tom,

I will try to rename the field - that's a good idea. If that doesn't
work, I would like to take you up on your kind offer to send a test database.
For a number of reasons, I can't get to that until sometime late tomorrow,
but email me at [email protected] to provide an email address. Thanks.
