show when folder is empty

B

Barbara Rutter

I used to have a folder setting that showed when a folder was empty. For a
better explanation, I would highlight an empty folder and *this folder is
empty* would show to the right of the folder. I no longer have this setting
and would hope that someone could help me find a way to get it back. It is
more an annoyance than a problem. I have windows XP pro, fully updated.
Folder settings at *do not show hidden files and folders* and mouse settings
at single click to open.
thank you for taking the time to read my post
hope someone can helpp.s
I have tried setting to *show hidden files and folders* to no avail

Do non-empty folders show the size in the infotip?
If not...
You might try looking at Windows Explorer-Tools-Folder Options-View
Ensure "Display file size information in folder tips" is checked.

Have you tried unchecking, applying (takes a little while) then
rechecking and applying?
