"Show this folder as an e-mail Address Book"

This issue is regarding Outlook 2000 on a Windows Server 2003 terminal server.
When I log on (either with administrator or a regular user) I open Outlook
and right click on the Contacts-folder. I then go to "Outlook Address Book".
There I want to choose "Show this folder as an e-mail Address Book", but the
option is grayed out.

When I tried this on a client computer with Windows XP and Outlook 2000, I
was able to choose the option.

I can`t see any group policies which is Office-related.

What could be the cause of this?

Verify that the Outlook Address Book service is loaded. (See Tools >
Services for Outlook 2000 configured in Corp/Workgroup mode.)

Hmmm..."Tools" in Outlook?
Can`t see any services option there.
Neither any Office services in services.msc

This is Office 2000 std edition.

What do you see in Outlook when you click Tools?
Neither any Office services in services.msc

It's not a system service, so you won't see it there.

"> What do you see in Outlook when you click Tools?"
I see this:

Send/receive
Settings for send/receive
Address-book
Search
Advanced search
Public folder search
Organize
Rules and alerts
Out of office assistant
Mailbox Cleanup
Empty Deleted items
Restore Deleted items
Forms
Macro
Mail accounts
Customize
Options

Select Help > About Microsoft Outlook. What to the top 3/4 lines say.
(Should say something like Microsoft Outlook 2000. I'm after the line right
below this that might say Corp/Workgroup mode or Internet Mail Only.

Outside of that, Mail accounts could mean Email Accounts. If that is the
case, you are staring at an Outlook 2002, 2003, or 2007 install. That
option would be Tools > Email Accounts > View/Change existing directories
and address books.

My mistake, it is indeed Outlook 2002 (Office XP).

It is a norwegian version, so it could be translated to E-mail accounts.

I had a look at Tools > Email Accounts > View/Change existing directories
and address books.
It is listed a Personal address book (MAPI).

What should I check here to resolve the problem stated in my first post?

Add the Outlook Address Book service to the profile. Restart Outlook and
you should be able to check the magic box.
