Finally fixed the problem with my trayclock now showing the full date. But
it shows the short date (my taskbar is triple height) and I want it to show
the long format. I have fiddled around with controlpanel-regional and
language-customize, but no luck. Any suggestions?

Control Panel, Regional and Language Options, Regional Options tab,
click on Customize button, click on the date tab and make sure long date
format is set up like you want it.

I just tried what I said and when I put the taskbar to triple height it
still only shows the short date. May be a registry hack to change that?
I don't know. Sorry to waste your time!
