show/hide icons, missing web tab, uninstall media player 11

My computer windows xp home edition, has lost the hide/show icons function,
and has lost active desktop and the web tab under display, I also cannot
uninstall windows media 11.

Right up front, do not tell me to uninstall media 11 by using the show
updates option under add remove programs, that does not work, I have tried
everything I know of, and this stupid program cannot be uninstalled. If you
know of a way for gods sake please tell me (and do it before Gates finds out
and gets rid of you!).

I have found in the news groups, THEY DO NOT WORK. Period, they do not work.
I have researched EVERY solution in the newsgroups, and they DO NOT WORK. I
need a solution, not the same old 'try this' schtick. I have had nothing but
trouble with windows from day one, and frankly I am tired of of cobbled
together, patched up programs that do not work as advertised, if I could get
my hands on Bill Gates anus, I would fold his program up into all corners and
feed it back to where it came from. Three years is too long to have to try
finding a solution, it cannot be fixed, windows is a critically flawed
system. I shoulda bought a Mac. Up yours Bill.
