How do i get the URL of a file that I donwload in IE.
Most sites have a direct link to the file, thats OK.
But on some sites they have a button "Click Here to
Download" etc., where it submits to another page, and the
donwload is redirected.
Then it opens in the default IE donwload box. the IE box
only shows downloading "filename"
from "www.sitename.com", not the full address.

How do I get the full address in this case ?

An interesting question, generally you can hover over a
link and in the bottom left of IE screen the "Status Bar"
will show the url. If your constantly redirected to a
different site your best bet is to get rid of the default
windows downloader and go with a "download accelerator"
like: FreshDownload from: www.freshdevices.com its easily
integrated into IE and supports pause/resume of
downloads, and my favorite completely $Free$. Using that
program you should be able to tell exactly where your
downloading originates from.

Hope I helped;

up FreshDownload feel free to e-mail me at

Thank you for replying, I downloaded "freshdownload" but
it doesn't catch that link for some reason, I was already
using "Getright" and I had the same problem, I totally
discard a bad setup. the problem is that the web-master
used some kind of code that only allows "Internet
Explorer" to download, but the problem is that the file
weights around 75Mb and I have a dialup connection, so I
need to copy this link to a download manager, but as I
said before, I can't get that link in the first place
because "Internet Explorer" only shows the domain and
file name, but not the entire URL.
If there's any Microsoft developer out there who's
reading this, please integrate full URL display into the
next "Internet Explorer" download box version. And if any
body knows some application that can view Internet
Explorer's URLs, or if some advanced user out there knows
how to do some advanced tweaking like using the MS-DOS
debugger (I have WinXP pro), please post, I would be
immensely grateful.
Thank you.

you can try FLASHGET that has the best method of catching urls of all the
other download managers
http://www.flashget.com

free

you can also use the MOZILLA browser to download the file, www.mozilla.org.
it has a download manager that will display the URL.

Nope, It tried these download managers but it seems there
is no way to make any download manager catch this link,
if only there was some way to view the full URL IE is
downloading from, Oh well.
