I've accidently dragged teh show Desktop icon from the
Quick Launch Bar to the desktop and can't put it back.
Does anyone know how? I tried dragging it back but it just
creates a shortcut.

Restore Missing Show Desktop Icon to Quick Launch
http://www.dougknox.com/xp/utils/xp_showdesktop.htm
=====================================================

If the Show Desktop icon is deleted from Quick Launch,
the procedure below
will recreate the file.

Open Notepad and enter the following text:

[Shell]
Command=2
IconFile=explorer.exe,3
[Taskbar]
Command=ToggleDesktop

Save the new file as Show Desktop.scf then drag and drop
the icon on the
Quick Launch bar or whatever location you want the
shortcut to appear.
=====OR=======================================
Alternately, search for the file named showdesktop.scf in
your computer by
logging in as administrator. Every user has a copy of
this file. Copy it to
your userprofile path here:

c:\Documents and Settings\<<YOUR USER NAME>>\Application
Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch

.
RIGHT CLICK and drag to where you want it. When you
release the right mouse button you will get a dialog box
asking if you want to copy, move, create shortcut, or
cancel. Selecting move does exactly that.
