Right click Taskbar > Toolbars > Tick Quick Launch
If Show Desktop icon is not in the toolbar :

1. Open Notepad,
2. Copy/Paste following lines in it :

[Shell]
Command=2
IconFile=explorer.exe,3
[Taskbar]
Command=ToggleDesktop

3. Click File, Save as..
4. Copy/Paste the following line in File name box :
%appdata%\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\Show Desktop.scf
5. Click OK

My problem with Show Desktop icon is different. When I click on the icon, it
brings up a "New Folder" dialog box. I tried deleting all the Show Desktop
files and did the Notepad approach, but still got the New Folder dialog box.
Can you help?
