should I upgrade from 2000 to 2003?

I have problems with FrontPage 2000 whenever I try to publish.

It's extremely slow when reading the files on my hard drive and on the
remote server.

It often jams up and doesn't completely publish.

Is FrontPage 2003 faster?

Is FrontPage 2003 more reliable and stable as far as publishing large
websites?

I will gladly upgrade, if doing so will help with these issues.

Your advice much appreciated!

This sound like more of a server issue or local hardware issue, in which case upgrading is not going
to solve the problem.

When is the last time you deleted all temp files, recycle bin, the FP temp folder, run scan disk and
defrag?

Contacted you host and ask them to run a check on the extensions, if your site is hosted on a server
with the FP extensions?

Check to see if the host is storing log and mail file within your web space, etc., if so these
should be deleted or converted to subweb, if under the FP extensions?

I believe and upgrade is a good thing, as there are lots of new features that
you will like, but I am not sure it will solve you problem.

Are you experiencing any slow down on other apps? If so defrag and clean up
windows. Also, run trojan and virus protection to be sure you do not have any
bugs (AdAware and a virus program).

If not, try a publish locally to another web. If it is fast, but remote is
not, check with your ISP and make sure they check the FP extensions for your
web.

Definately!!! I've tried both versions myself and 2003 is way way
better... For example, I wouldnt have been able to make my site look
the way it did without the features in 2003...

Does anyone know where to get the upgrade? I went to the MSFT site and
clicked on the Buy Now for the $109 upgrade but it indicates that it's no
longer available.

Do I go web shopping for this?

I use the 2003 and found that the changes are significant as compared to
2000.
However, it is my understanding that MS will come out with a 2006 version.
This is mainly due to the fact that MS will come out with an entire MS
Office 2006 (I'm pretty sure about this but if anybody else knows for
sure... please respond).

MS is definately coming out with a new version of FP, the question I don't
know is whether or not it is a stand alone product, or part of the new
Office. Last I heard was due out in 3-4 months, but have not been really
watching it much.

It will be a stand alone product. We don't know when it will be out.
Perhaps sometime later this year.
