When attempting to open an excel file from a desktop
shortcut I receive the message: Windows cannot find
C:\.... Excel opens and shows a blank sheet with this
message displayed.
The file can be opened by clicking file open and
selecting it from it's location or by clicking the file
from the list of most receint used files. All other
shortcuts to other software files work fine. I think
this happened after I upgraded MS Access from 97 to
2002. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, kbwfr

Sometimes one of these works:

Tools|Options|General|Ignore other applications (uncheck it)

--- or ---

Close Excel and
Windows Start Button|Run
excel /unregserver
then
Windows Start Button|Run
excel /regserver

The /unregserver & /regserver stuff resets the windows registry to excel's
factory defaults.
