In win 2000 I have the following shortcut to open Windows Explorer pointing
at my C: drive:

Target:

%windir%\explorer.exe /e

Start in:

%windir%C:

Run:

Normal window

I have created an identical short cut in XP. In 2000, when Explorer opens,
it is not maximized. However in XP it opens maximized even though the
shortcut specifies "Normal window".

How do I prevent XP from opening the window maximized.

Thank you,

Ted

Open Explorer and click the little square next to the red X, it should show
"Restore down". When the window is normal put your cursor on the bottom
righthand corner so it becomes a two-headed arror. Now hold down the
mouse button and shrink it by pushing up to the top left and let go of the
button when you are satisfied. The next time you open Explorer it should
open to your desired size.

It does not 'remember' its last position and size.

Is there some parameter that can be added to the short cut to tell it where
to position itself and what the size should be?

Thanks,

Ted
