IE8 doesn't run maximized from a shortcut

Installed IE8 over IE7 and the icons/shortcuts that load IE, even though they
are set to load IE ?Maximized? don't load it maximized. Anyone else notice
this? Even newly created shortcuts/icons only load IE8 in "normal" window and
not maximized.

only thing I have found is to use F11 to maximize it.

it then opens in that mode.

none of the older tricks seem to work.

To get maximized windows from Desktop and QL shortcuts, create a few
shortcuts to your browser on your Desktop, or Quick Launch bar, then
edit the shortcuts:

1. Change the "Target:" to:

"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE" http://lpga.com

(as an example site.)

2. After adding the internet address, change the "Run:" pane to "Maximized".

(That will make those shortcuts open IE maximized.) There's also
software available that will switch opened windows to the maximized
condition. Here's one:

To maximize Windows Explorer windows:

Hope this helps,

Have you actually tried this? Setting the shortcut to open (run) the
specified program in a maximized window does NOT work with IE8. The
*suggestion* in the shortcut for window size is ignored by IE8.
