Shortcut problem.

My external CD/DVD drive is named DVD-RAM Drive(F:) but the shortcut becomes
CD Drive. But thats not the main problem. I' ve created an icon but when I
go throught the process of changing to it it via Properties I get a message
when I click on APPLY. The name 'F:\' specified in the Target box is not
valid. Make sure the path and file name are correct.

Just like to add that I have another external drive (E:) and I used exactly
the same technique to create, rename and change the icon without any
problem.

If all you want to do is to change the name of the shortcut from CD Drive to
DVD=RAM Drive (F:). (or anything else), don't click on Properties and change
the target. Right click the shortcut and choose Rename and name it whatever
you wish. The target info remains as before, only the shortcut name
changes.

I don't have a problem changing name. Its changing the icon thats gone
wrong. In fact, if I just go into Properties and click OK I get that
message.

Does it make a difference if you put a disk into the drive before going
into Properties?
