shortcut performs search instead of explore or open

Just recently my WIndows Explorer behaviour seems to have changed, and when I
click on one of the shortcuts in 'My Documents', instead of opening the
folder name as a list, it opens a search onto that folder.
Does anyone have any idea why this is, and how I can revert to the original ?
