Shortcut keys Won't Start Application

A client has installed new computers with Windows XP and Office 2003. Now
when a user has an Access application open, another user can't open the same
application using a shortcut key. But they can open the application if they
start Access and then go to File/Open.

The strange thing is, this happens to all of the applications on these
computers except one. The one application works regardless of how the
application is started.

Has anyone seen this problem?

Thanks

Ron

Yes, a Windows short cut file.
I will give that a try. My only concern is one of the apps works and all of
the others don't work.
All of these short cut files are using the same format, which is:
C:\Folder_Name\Database_Name.mdb

These short cut files all worked before new computers were installed.
When you double-click on the icon, nothing happens.

Thanks,
Ron

Yes, the application that works is on the user's hard drive. The others
load from the server.

The app that works is probably on your PCs hard drive or else in a trusted
folder on the network.

Do you mean a Windows shortcut file? The kind you double-click on the
icon
