Shortcut & Input mask question

I am in the process of converting a paradox database to Access 2000. I have
been told to keep the data entry forms as identical to the old paradox as
possible. (Training issues) I have two things i can't figure out.
1. I need dates to be entered on the ten key as 1.23.05 and be entered in
the table as 1/23/05 etc. I believe this is an input mask issue. All the
offices are used to entering dates this way in paradox, and they dont want
anything to change.
2. I need to hit the + key to insert the previous batch date from the
previous record into the new record. This is a shortcut that everyone is
used to on paradox.
Thanks for your help...Randy

These are the two areas where your users may have to change.

It may be possible to create an input mask to accept dots, but I'm not sure
how it will store in your database under the date/time datatype.
As far as copying a field from one record to the next record users will use
Ctrl ". It is built-in to Access and can't be changed.

You need to make your users aware that a different application will require
different methods of input and you will try to make things as close as
possible to the other application, but your hands may be tied. It is just a
fact of life and a little change never hurt anyone.
