Short Date Format Incorrect

Hi, I have a number of different software packages on my computer. Almost all
work fine but for some reason two of them don't as they keep defaulting back
to a short date format of 'd-mmm-yyyy'. This means I am unable to enter
transactions into these software packages. I have tried changing the format
in Regional settings which works for a short period and then changes back
after I log off and log back in again. Also I have tried in Registry Editor
to change it but that doesn't work - it is as though it is set at Group
Policy level but I cannot find this setting in GP. The format should be
'dd/mm/yyyy'.

Any thoughts welcome.

It looks like there is no solution to this, I am in the same boat with you
as far as applications not being able to work with M/d/yyyy format,
Windows2000 and XP default back to M/d/yyyy even if u change it in registry,
I think Denis's links all refer to Windows NT...If anyone can help changing
the regional setting in control panel to set the short date to M/d/yy
permanently, that would be helpful...
thanks
KJ

I am using a registry startup batch file and put it into the startup folder
for 'all users' in documents and setting...
