Date Format

Can anyone help me with the following?

I am living in the UK using Win2k SP4 and therefore my locale is set to
United Kingdom (English) and therefore my short date format should be
dd/MM/yyyy but since using win update, one of the hotfixes has done something
and no matter what I do, I get the short date format as MM/dd/yyyy and no
matter how I change this format, either in Regional Options or manually
configure the regedit to dd/MM/yyyy, upon reboot, it goes back to MM/dd/yyyy
both in Regional options and the regedit sShortdate key. Does anyone know
how to cure this bloody problem?

Thanks

Check out this link http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=17922. We
had a similar situation with some of our servers a while ago, all
configuration information in the GUI said it was using British English, but
we eventually found that some registry keys were still set to US English. I
did have a better link than the one above, but it seems to be dead now
unfortunately.

Not exactly the same situation as you have, but hopefully it will help.

Hi Keith,

Thanks for your input. But that even though that pertained to XP and I have
Win 2000P, there was a section for Win2k but as Win2k runs off win.ini and
does not have a winnt.sif, there was nothing it could do. I have even tried
uninstalling ALL the hotfixes but that didn't work either.

I have noticed however, that what has ever happened to my machine, has
changed the BIOS/CMOS to American date format too. I might as well, reset
the BIOS and do a clean install, and leave the microsoft hotfixes alone.
Microsoft don't help users, they just create extra problems.
