Short cuts on Desk Top

I had a hot button shortcut in a tool bar that would take me back to my desk
top. Now when I click on it, it opens my desk top folder in windows explorer.

Can anybody help

Are you talking about the "Show Desktop" shortcut? Delete the one you
have and do this:

Restore "Show Desktop" from MVP Rick Rogers:

Copy/paste the below into notepad, then click file/"save as" and call it
"show desktop.scf" and drop it on the desktop. You can drag it from
there to the quicklaunch bar.
