Short-cut is dead

Hi,
For no reason, the short-cut for WordPerfect went dead today.
When I inspected the short-cut file in
c:\Documents and Settings\ ... Programs\
I discovered that the file is entirely empty (i.e., all zeros).

Has anyone encountered this problem?

I tried creating another shortcut, but it suffers the same symptoms.

By co-incidence, subsequently, when I was saving some attachments to emails,
I found that some attachments, when ins[ected, were bringing up WordPerfect.
So, the system has not entirely "forgotten" it.
