Shift Arrow movement

I use the shift & arrow keys to drag out and highlight areas I want to
correct, move, delete or copy. That feature does not work on this computer
and I don't know how to make it work. I thought it was the key board but it
wasn't. Help!

Could be the normal functionality of the program you are using. What
program is it?

CTRL+SHIFT with any of the arrow keys Highlight a block of text.

SHIFT with any of the arrow keys Select more than one item in a window or on
the desktop, or select text within a document.

Do you have FilterKeys turned on? Do you hear a beep after Shift has been
held down a while?

No the key function do not work with any program.
