shellmanager database

Does anyone know what "shellmanager database" is?
I loaded in Nero 7 Ultra Edition, it didn't install right, so I tried to
uninstall it. I got the error message "shellmanager database is corrupt or
missing." It stops the uninstall at this message. I tried to repair install,
but got to a certain point and got the same error message. I afraid to try
installing over the bad file for fear of something even worse will happen.
Tried nero, but haven't got an answer back.
Any help in this would be greatly appreciated,
