Sharing Wireless Through a Router

Hello everyone,

I am new to this group, so if any know of a newsgroup that might be
more appropriate for this message, please let me know.

Currently, the residence I am living in provides only wireless internet
(I could get wired, but it would be like 50 bucks a month). I have a
desktop computer with a wireless PCI network card (D-Link DWL-520G)
that I use to connect to a G based network with WPA security. I also
have a D-link Router (DI-624) that I would like to use to share the
internet connection between the rest of the computers I have (2 more
currently).

Now the problem I am having is that no matter what sort of settings I
try in Windows Network Connections, my internet breaks whenever I have
the wireless card enabled at the same time as the built-in ethernet.
I've tried editing the 'Alternate Configuration' tab of the TCP/IP
properties in which I added the configuration of the other network
adaptor for each card. The router provides a DHCP service for all the
computers on the network, distributing IP's in the range
192.168.0.100+, but I can have all three existing computers setup with
static IP's in that range. The wireless box uses 192.168.0.100, the
router (default gateway) is at 192.168.0.1.

When both connections are enabled, I am able to connect to the router
and configure it, and I can talk between the computers, but it seems to
automatically try to access the internet through the router which it
can't. I want the Wireless network to share itself to the router (the
router has a 4 port switch and an incoming WAN jack. I've tried
combinations of sharing and bridgeing, but it is likly I set that part
up wrong. If any one has suggesoitns for ideal sharing configurations,
please let me know.

install internet connection sharing on your wireless computer
disable wifi radio & dhcp in your extra router and just use it as a wired
switch.
