sharing violation/file open problems

I have 6 windows xp clients connect to a windows 2000 server. Every now and
then, we are getting errors that files cannot be saved because they are
currently in use. The user would have opened the file no problem and could
have worked on it for hours before this problem surfaces when they try to
save. The only solution is to save the file as an alternate name. This is
happening with all sorts of files including CAD files and MS Office files. I
have verified that the files in question are not open by any other users.
Has anyone experienced this sort of problem before? If so, what did you do
to fix it?

Thanks
Brett

Q816557_WXP_SP2_x86_SVE.exe
that's gonna come with xpsp2.
Search microsoft.com for the file.

Umm....cant find it. I've searched MS for Q816557_WXP_SP2_x86_SVE.exe. I've
searched for Q816557 & 816557 in the knowledge base. I've even done a google
search. Can you maybe give me a link where you found it?

Thanks
Brett
