Hey all,

Is there any way to disable XP Home's block of sharing
the program files folder? I know all about the security
implications of this, but I'm really needing to access
those files remotely. Any ideas?

Thanks a bunch,

-Jon

Greetings JonP,

With Windows XP Home Edition there is no easy way since
it uses Simple File Sharing. The safest would be to share
individual folder within the Program Files folder (eg.
C:\Program Files\Outlook) to access that folder from
another machine. You can start your XP Home machine
in "Safe Mode With Network" which removes those
restrictions temporarily.
