Sharing printers on network XP and Vista Ultimate

I have two home computers, one running XP home the other Vista Ultimate. Each
computer has a printer attached and are used by either computer for differing
tasks.
The XP computer can access printer attached to Vista machine. The vista
machine can't use XP printer. All Connections appear to be valid, everything
is recognising everything but instructions are not sent to XP printer.
It is suggested that the Vista machine is looking for a vista driver on the
XP machine. Any comment or suggestions gratefully received!

Install the printer locally, for example use LPT1. Then switch to the Vista printer. please post back with the result.

Thanks Robert. We create an LPT port on vista machine and mapped that port to
the XP printer.
We then pointed the Vista driver for the XP printer to that port and
everything works. Seems a long way round to achieve simple access to a
network printer.
