sharing printers from a workgroup with a PC in a domain

We have a SBS 2003 network in our shop with XP Pro clients that belong to a
domain. When we setup a customer's PC on the workbench for repair and connect
it to the network switch we see the PC as workgroup MSHOME under network
places along with our domain. I attempted to do this at a customer's home. He
has a XP Pro PC connected to a wireless router that belongs to workgroup
MSHOME. He also has a laptop from work that belongs to his work domain and
connects to the wireless router at home. I can ping between the PC to the
Laptop, however they do not see each other in network places. I am attempting
to share the printer that is connected to the PC with the Laptop (also
running XP Pro). Any suggestions as to what I have configured wrong? Thanks.

No incorrect configuration. Get used to using the UNC
http://kb.indiana.edu/data/aibg.html?cust=976747.33395.30 rather than My
Noddy Places.

Thanks and credit to MVP Lanwench:

You don't need to change to a workgroup just to access resources on it.
You shouldn't play with your laptop's network settings at all. Once
you've logged in using your domain account (using cached credentials),
and have an IP address on the home network, you can map drives, use
printers, whatnot, very easily - one way, in a command line:

net use x: \\computername\sharename /user:computername\username <enter>

The UNC worked great. Had to load Netbios protocol and it went very smoothly.
Thanks for the help.
