Sharing Hard Drives

Hi

I just got a new computer, so I set up a home network to easily share files
between the two. I want to share my hard drives, so that users on both
computers would be able to browse the files on the hard drives of both
computers. I have trouble doing and want to know if that is even possible.
Please tell me.

Thanks in advance.

Yes. Open Explorer, highlight the drive, right-click in you should find
Sharing and Security in the drop down menu

Yes, it's pretty straightforward. In the "My computer" screen right click
the icon for the hard drive (separately at each machine) and select "Sharing
and security". Follow the instructions or look for additional assist in the
helpfile with "sharing" as a starting keyword.

I am working through the same situation. tow computers at home, wireless G to
a cable modem. we want to share a drive and printer

In reading a microsoft book on the subject:

first you have to right click and share the drive or folder(s) but next the
book say we have to set up a "user" on the computer that has the shared
drive. So that when the other computer hooks up - a sign on user is approved.

this is where i am stuck - i can see the shared computer name (along with
the network name - home) but i can not map or sign on to the shared computer?

anyone have an idea or thought

thanks
