sharing gone after winnt.sif CD setup?

Hi,

I am loading a pc from the Win2k Pro CD using a floppy to feed it the
answers via winnt.sif.
On completion, I log in as administrator, open Explorer, right-click either
the root of C:\ or any folder and I am not presented with any sharing options
as I would normally expect.
I tested doing a "normal" install and manually entering the information and
the sharing tab was present under those circumstances. But I don't want to
have to do a manual install every time. (Point of unattend setup is to walk
away isn't it?<grin>)
So my question is, which part of the answer file dictates this change and
how do I reverse it.
I want to be able to remotely mount my client's admin shares but this answer
file does something to prevent this.
Thanks in advance.

Hi John John,

SOLVED!

The following section needed to be added to enable the server service:

[NetServices]
MS_Server = params.MSServer

;config MS File and Print Service
[params.MSServer]
Optimization = Balance

Hopefully this post will help someone else and save them all the Googling...

Thanks for the help!

John John

You're welcome. Thanks for the follow up. I'm archiving this one!
Then if someone else asks I'll just have to google through my stored
messages...

Now, if only you (or a scripting guru) could somehow script that into a
longon script many network administrators would be happy to know how to
remotely enable file and printer sharing. I wonder if those "MS
Scripting Guys" read these these newsgroups. Probably not, they seem to
be always be goofing around... Nice job if you're smart enough to get
it. Hey, if you guys are reading we go to your site now and then, and
that's why we know you goof around, you told us so!

John

PS. Maybe the scripting guys don't want to tell us because of security
concerns. Eventually someone will figure it out.

This message was generated by Scriptomatic and will now self destruct.
Then Tweakomatic will automatically recreate it.
