I am running a home network on Windows XP professional. I want to share a
folder from one computer with other network users. I am using the "simple
sharing" function and I have set up the folder so that remote users on the
network can access the folder. However, even though the other users can see
the folder in their "Network Places", they cant access the content of the
folder. When they try to open the folder a message pops up telling them that
access is denied because they don't have permission to use the resource.
This happens for all computers on the network. How do I fix this problem?
Thanks for your help

Hi Wale,

This most likely has to do with your NTFS permissions. NTFS permission
overrule your sharing permissions, so even if you share a folder and give
the group "everyone" access to it, but in the NTFS permissions only the
administrator or owner has access, you won't be able to access this folder
from the network.

I hope this helped you,

Robert

You should have a location on your drive that has a directory called
"Shared Documents" - put your folder there and everyone can see them.
