Hel

Have 2 pc's w/ XP pro, wireless router and usb adapter. Have had huge trouble connecting together on a network. Netgear person helped me get some success by disabling deterministic network enhancer and QoS packet scheduler and one other (something about advertising). But still cannot share drives/folders easily across computers. Can see shared folders from one on the other but not in the reverse direction. Couple Questions

1) if one PC has both NTFS and FAT32 formatting, is it totally impossible to share FAT32 (ie I need to re-format ?
2) Do not seem to be able to connect at all if I use WEP encryption in router - why would this be a problem

I do not understand the file sharing vs forceguest stuff at all. I believe I am configured for forceguest but not sure I want that or if I do how to make it work. I have read several threads on this subject but most answers are too cryptic for me to follow

maybe there is a networking for dummies tutorial available somewhere

THank

1. You can share areas that are either NTFS, FAT or both
from a single machine - no problem.
2. You probably need to enter the WEP sting into both the
access point and your computers network interface config.

With Simple sharing on (or force Guest in use) after an
account has authenticated to the system, all access to resources
is done as Guest. For example, if you have shared NTFS, then
access will only be granted where Guest or Guests or Everyone
has been granted NTFS permission within the shared area.
