Sharing files on network

D

Dick

I recently set up a network at home with my desk top and
new laptop. I am now able to access the internet from
the laptop using the cable modem. That's great.

But, I would like to be able to share Word Files and the
printer as well. I have been umable to figure out how to
do this.

Both machines use XP.

I'd appreciate any help. Please contact me at my email
address.

Thank.

Running the Network setup wizard on both computers. It should configure
shared folders automatically. You can access the shared folders by typing
the IP address at the RUN windows (\\192.168.0.2 for example) or from
network places window.

DICK,
You have the same basic setup as me, ie. Laptop
connected to a Desktop running XP., my laptop has 98.
It is very simple to share files across a Local Area
Network .
For example on your Desktop, riht-click on any file(s) or
folder(s) you want to access from the laptop, and click
Sharing and Security, then click Sharing and click the
appropiate boxes . Done !!

Hope this helps .
