Sharing files and printers

Guest

I have 1 desk top running XP and a lap top running Windows 98 a wireless
router and a broadband connection. 2 days ago I successfully shared files and
printer on desktop with the lap top and also the lap top files with the desk
top.

I am now unable to see desktop files or printer from the lap top, although I
can see the laptop from the desktop. both machines can see the internet.

I am sure that I have done something silly but I can't find it, I am not
sure if the desktop is guilty or laptop. I have disabled the windows firewall
and enable certain IP addresses through Norton, it did all work a few days
ago. Any ideas?

Steve,

What you're describing is a typical browser problem (note this is NOT referring
to Internet Explorer) which is common when mixing Windows 9x and Windows NT
systems.

If no help yet, provide "browstat status" and "ipconfig /all" from each
computer, and we can diagnose the problem. Read this article, and linked
articles, and follow instructions precisely:

may help others in the future, and that's the purpose of these forums.
