I am running a XP Home PC with a USB Modem for ADSL. Can i share that Internet access with a W98SE and W95 PC? If yes is there any special SW needed for the older systems

Are you using a router or a hub..? If the hub, install ICS on the XP
machine, it will then make a floppy to run on your other two machines.
Before you run the floppy, make sure your xp is on the net and all machines
can see each other.

Good suggestion, Nick. However, XP's network setup floppy won't run
on W95, so configure the network settings manually on that computer:
Go to Control Panel | Network and:

1. Add these network components if they aren't already present:

TCP/IP protocol
Client for Microsoft Networks
File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks

2. Remove these network components if they're present:

IPX/SPX protocol
NetBEUI protocol
Client for NetWare networks

3. Set the workgroup name to the same name as the Windows XP computer
uses (default for XP is MSHOME).

4. Double click "TCP/IP->network card" and configure it to obtain an
IP address automatically.

I did not know that. Is that all the setup disk does for the client machines
(what you outlined for manual mode). Thanks for the bits.

Thank you for your help.

I am using a hub. ICS is already installed but was having touble with a "IP number conflict".
After solving that i wil try to setup network settings manually on both machines because my XP system has no floppy ;-(.

Thanks again
Romano
