Sharing a shared internet connection

Hi,

Is it possible to share a already shared internet connection?
Meaning...

Computer1 is connected to a cable modem and normally shares to a hub in
the basement.
Computer2 has 2 NIC's.

Both computers have XP Pro on them.

Can I take Computer1's internet connection that is normally going
straight to the hub and give it to Computer2 first, and then share that
connection to the hub from Computer2 through its 2nd ethernet port?

The reason for this is that I dont have a router yet and I dont have
another long ethernet cable to hook up to Computer2 to the hub from
upstairs. Hopefully that makes sense. :)
