Sharing a remote SINGLE file (NOT: a folder) in a LAN possible ?

Sharing whole folders in a LAN is not a problem.

However I did not found a way to share only a single (txt) file in a LAN.

The context menu for this textfile does not offer an entry for "Sharing"

Is there a workaround for this (without sharing the whole folder of the file) ?

Give the textfile a folder of its own and share the folder.

Its only an extra click to get to the file. Users can always create a
shortcut directly to the file on their pc..

You can not share only files. You must share a folder. One
workaround, create a folder just for that file.

Why not put it in the Shared Documents folder?

Make a folder with just the file in it.

It's either that or install Novell Netware.
