Sharing a Calendar with sharing all the appointment details

My boss would like to share his calendar showing when he is available, but
not the details of his day. How can he show his scheduled appointments as
unavailable/available only without having to select the private button every
single time?
 
Outlook version? Does he have the option to "Show calendar details in the
grid" turned off under Planner Options?
