sharepoint team services

I am not sure about what 'sharepoint team services' is.
After I read something from help, I tried to create from
tool>server, but my server is not default...
I am in charge of a school web page with FrontPage. Now I
need a discussion board on our web. I was told to create
discussion board with 'sharepoint team services'. How
should I creat one?

SharePoint is only available on IIS 6, which runs on Windows Server 2003.
Are you running that server?
