SharePoint Designer 2007 - Preview Web Page

Does anybody know where the "Preview" web page tab or function is in Designer
2007? I need this ability so I can log into my Sharepoint Server prior to
editing a page on the server.

I've tried that, no work. But let me further explain. For security reasons, I
have to log into the Portal to access the sharepoint web site. This worked
fine in FrontPage 2003 as we would select preview, this would then accecpt
the security and allow us to login. Once we logged in, we could then access
the sharepoint web site as the ISAPI filter would then let us in.

So would be it save to say we are screwed on this and the potral users will
lose the ability to modify SharePoiint 2007 websites via the Designer? Of is
there another editor that will allow this?

Thanks
Brian

Also, why would this simple function be removed. I don't understand this. If
we are allowed to edit a web page, why should we not be able to view it?

Hi Steve,
BTW, thanks for your help.

Sorry, I'm sure I'm not being clear, so let me try again.

We have a portal we log into. This portal authenticates the user. Once they
are authenticated they are then passed off to the Sharepoint server. there
the ISAPI filter recieves the security info from the orginal portal for
authentication and allows them to access the SharePoint server.

If I'm logged into the Sharepoint server and I select Edit Page in
Frontpage, then frontpage opens and takes me to the portal login screen. When
there, if we select the Preview tab at the bottom of the frontpage, we can
then select the login link and login to the portal. Once we do this, the
security info is saved on the logal machine and we can then access the
SharePoint page for editing. So the preview page tab is needed to login so we
can be authenticated.
