Sharename already exists

I have a problem trying to create new printer, I get the message "sharename
already exists", but I have no other printers on this machine with this
sharename (in fact there are no othere shared printers at all), is this
something in the registry that I need to fix?

make sure that the share does not exist for a folder

All share information is located in the registry in the lanman server
context

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\lanmanserver\Shares

There was indeed a folder using this sharename.
