When logged on locally what is the resulting permissions if both shared and
NTFS permissions are set.. I think I have read that ONLY the shared
permissions would take effect , is this correct ?

-Thanks again

When logged in interactively i.e. on the local computer, share permissions
mean nothing and NTFS permissions mean everything.

unless you access the folder via the share, such as through a drive
mapping, which is very possible and many people do. in that case, it's
as if the machine is remote and it's the more restrictive of the two
(union of permissions) that results.
