I set up a wireless network (Netgear) with an older laptop connected to a
calbe modem. Connecting to the Internet through this access point are a
newer laptop and a Sony PSP. Both laptops have built-in wireless network
adapters. After weeks of trying different things, I finally got both machines
to at least recognize their own components using "View workgroup
computers"....at least, most of the time, other times I get nothing. Even
so, they do not show up on the other's machine, and obviously none of the
shared items are active. I 've run the wizard a million times, as well as
the network diagnostic program (everything passed)...nothing

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

what do you receive using net view \\remotehost?

Thanks for replying. I typed in "\\remotehost" into the "RUN" dialog and got
back
"The network path was not found". A little more on my computers: I am
runinng both Zone alarm and Norton Internet Security. I can't find anything
in either's program section about LAN items, so I don't know if there is a
firewall problem or not.
Also, in Explorer, both computers show the same progression: My Network
Place, Entire Network, Microsoft Windows Network, Home. In the old machine,
a click on Home (the network name) brings a list of the shared folders. On
the new machine, the shared items are in a master folder called "SharedDocs"
under My Network Places, co=equal with the Entire Network. When i click on
Home, I get a dialog box telling me that Home is not accessible, I might need
to contact the administrator to get permission to use network resources, and
the list of servers for this workgroup is not currenly available.
Thank you
Mike
