I'm getting error message when I try to look at a Shared Documents folder.
it says "not accessible, may not have permissions." Could someone offer
suggestions on how to fix.

Here are a few details that make this odd: This sharing is between the only
two WinXP-pro PC's on this simple network. Both are set up almost
identically, both have simple file sharing enabled, both have the sharing
(under properties) turned 'on' for the Shared Documents folder, it's
actually under. C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents

The odd thing is. one PC can see the other's Shared Documents, but the other
PC can't see the other's Shared Documents.it gives error message.

What's going on here?

Thanks,

G

George,

There are several possibilities here.
# Registry setting restrictanonymous.
# Misconfigured / overlooked firewall.
# Browser conflict.
# Improperly activated Guest account.

Check restrictanonymous on each computer.

Look for any misconfigured or overlooked firewalls. What antivirus products do
you use?

Diagnose a browser conflict by running "browstat status" on all computers.

Make sure the Guest account is properly activated on each computer.

If no help yet, provide "browstat status" and "ipconfig /all" for each computer,
and some details about your network, here.
