Shared contacts viewability (from non-shared folders)

Hi,

I'm using OE6 and have 2 users setup, and the obligatory 'Shared
Contacts' folder. There are contacts present in all three locations.

When composing a message, email addresses are successfully
auto-completed. E.g. lets say Bob is writing a message; when writing
the recipient address, OE will auto-complete on all addresses/names
contained in "Bob's Contacts" + "Shared Contacts" - just as expected.

The problem (OK, not a problem really, but a little confusing and
irritating) is that when viewing, say, Bob's contacts in the Address
Book the occasional entry seen will be one that is actually stored in
the Shared Contact's folder, as opposed to the "Bob's Contacts"
folder. Let's say our other user is "Amy". The same thing happens in
here, perhaps with different contacts, perhaps the same. I think I
may be getting a little unclear, so i'll try and summarise:

Regarding shared contacts; some appear in JUST the shared folder, some
appear in the shared folder plus another user's contacts folder, and
yet others appear in all three folders...

I'm pretty sure this is not a problem with duplicate entries - I have
checked those contacts of interest, via properties->other tab->Folder
location, and checking that the actual folder location was "Shared
Contacts", which it was.

Any ideas? This may just require a little explanation rather then an
actual fix. It would make more sense to me to either not list the
Shared Contacts within a specific user's contacts, OR list all shared
contacts...

Any help or advice would be much appreciated!!

Cheers,

James

A good website for information on OE is:
http://www.tomsterdam.com/

This is a group to support Outlook from the Office group of programs.
Outlook Express is a part of Internet Explorer and is a quite different
program, despite its similar name.

You will probably get a faster and more expert answer if you post this to an
Outlook Express news group.

Try posting in one of these newsgroups:
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie5.outlookexpress for OE 5.x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie55.outlookexpress for OE 5.5x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlookexpress for OE 6.x
microsoft.public.internet.outlookexpress.mac for OE for Macintosh

If those groups aren't carried on the news server that's carrying this group
try using msnews.microsoft.com (MS's public news server that's the source
for all the microsoft.public newsgroups).

OUTLOOK EXPRESS, included as part of Microsoft Internet
Explorer, offers standard Internet e-mail and news access,
required by many home and small-business users.

MICROSOFT OUTLOOK, provides comprehensive integrated e-mail,
including information management and collaboration capabilities,
required by a wide spectrum of users from home to small
business to large enterprise. Outlook has the Calendar and Tasks.
