shared borders - server error

Since I use shared borders in order to not use any longer frames I
have publishing errors: everything is published ( from intranetserver
tot internetserver) but I have the 500 server error
"Server error
Server error: this server has encountered an internal error which
prevents it from fulfilling your request.
The most likely cause is a misconfiguration. Please ask the
administrator to look for messages in the server'error log."
It's a unixserver, frontpage ectensions 98 or 97 and I use fp2000
The guys on the servers say they don't see anything in the logbook !"

shared borders do not need extensions, do they ?

web has:2263 files but not all htm (+/-1607),a lot of pdf-files

No they don't
They are just design time include pages
(html included when you save them or pages using them)
