Shared Borders not uploading

G

Guest

My web server (Startlogic) recently deleted my total web by accident while
deleting webs of (Ipower) who they host for.I deceided to change to IX
webhosting. It took 12 hours to upload when it normally takes about 8 hours
on the previous hosting. It also timed out & had to be republished many times
in that 12 hours. That being said. Now my shared borders are missing. I have
disabled & reenabled the FP extentions as they told me. It gave me back my
TITLES but I still do not have my shared borders. It has put something there
now but not the borders in boxes as I previously had. I am using FP 2003.
Their only answer is to republish. I dread 12 hours of sitting here watching
it so I can restart each time it times out. Any thoughts would be
appreciated. Also What causes all these time outs? It appears to be uploading
at 20 kbs

I changed the color in the Shared borders & then changed it back, saved &
published & it looks fine now

doesn't look like that site has FP extentions though.

In your browser address window type: http://www.beamalarm.com/_vti_inf.html
if the extensions are present you will see a page referring to them...blah
blah blah...in your case you get a page error - so most likely the
extensions are not there.

are you an alarm guy..what's beamalarm?

I was until I sold the business 3 years ago.
I am retired now & I travel with our RV alot.
I set the FP ext to Enable.
I dont understand how they could be missing.
It says enabled in my web control panel.
What problems would I be seeing if they are missing?

When I type http://www.beamalarm.com/_vti_inf.html I get "FrontPage
Configuration Information In the HTML comments, this page contains
configuration information that the FrontPage Explorer and FrontPage Editor
need to communicate with the FrontPage server extensions installed on this
web server. Do not delete this page." Does that mean they are missing?

No
that means the FP SE were applied to the site

My business was in Southern CAlif. 30 years. Just got to hard to find
reliable labor. I think I sold at the peak of 40 times MRR. I think it has
dropped dramatically since.
Where are you located? (e-mail address removed)

I sold a bunch at 44 (with no hold back - sweet deal) and kept the service
contracts on them...then got royally screwed by the company I sold to...not
on the sale but on the contracted service...then they stole my phone number
and were telling everyone I didn't exist. Nice eh? I shoulda just walked
away from the biz but I still had 1500 that I didn't sell...but they couldnt
get hold of me because those guys had my phone line. So I sued for trademark
infringement - I won of course...and got my phone line back. But it almost
killed me.

Arizona.

I have seen this so many times & thats why I insisted on all cash & no hold
back. If I wanted to take a risk ,I could of done better but it wasnt worth
it. To much grief as you see. Congrats on not letting them get away with it.
