User has Outlook 2003 & we have a corporate Exchange server

I have a user that has created a second task folder (File > Folder > New
Folder...)

They went into Sharing and on the Permissions tab setup the people who
should have access. The other people to whom access was given can't seem to
find this task folder. In the "Open Other User's Folder" they only have the
default Folder type. When they pick tasks it tells them it can't find it. To
test this out I had the user give same permissions to the default task and
that can be opened no problem. It seems through the "Open Other User's
Folder" you can't open a folder of a users that isn't a default. Is this
correct?

To access a shared folder that isn't one of the folders listed on the File | Open | Other User's Folder dialog, the mailbox owner needs to grant "folder visible" permission to the root of the mailbox and any other parent folders of the shared folder, as well as appropriate permission -- at least Reviewer -- on the shared folder itself.

The user who needs access then goes into Tools | E-mail Accounts or Tools | Services (depending on the Outlook version), brings up the properties for the Exchange Server service, and on the Advanced tab, adds the mailbox.

For more information on folder permissions, with how-to screen shots, see http://www.howto-outlook.com/howto/permissions.htm and http://office.microsoft.com/assistance/preview.aspx?AssetID=HA011134811033

Did he also enable the appropriate permissions to the folder containing the
new Tasks fodler and to the maibox they're in?

Yep... Works fine for the default Tasks folder, but when the user created a
second Tasks folder no one else can select it becuase only the default Tasks
is in the drop down when the user try to open the task folder.
