Share folder on XP workstation within a domain

We have a Windows 2003 SBS network with all Windows XP workstations. I want
to share a directory on one of the workstations for access only 2 users
within the domain. I have created the folder and shared it, added both users
from the AD list.

We can see the workstation via My Network Places but it does not show an
available shared folder and when we try to open the workstation name is says
Permission is denied.

I'm assuming this is some being setup by the Domain Group Policy but I'm
just not sure what I have to do to fix it or what policy I need to change.

Any ideas.

Why? This is really not a good idea. If you want to share something, do it
on the file server(s) in your domain. You can control access to them just as
easily (if not more so) there. Don't store any data on your workstations -
keep everything on the server. This is one of the major reasons to use a
server & AD.
I have created the folder and shared

Did you check the share permissions as well?

Yes I am aware of the use of AD and the reason for it however we have a
second company now running out of the one office and their data needs to be
on their own computer. Their computer is on our network for IE access only
but all the data needs to be on that machine only with only 2 users on the
network having access.

I am aware this is out of the norm but this is a different situation than
normal and this is what I've been requested to do.

It wouldn't be a Group Policy setting unless your domain administrator
has deliberately prohibited file sharing; in which case there's very
little to be done about it.

Have you set each workstation's firewall to allow exceptions for file
sharing? Have you made sure that the Share permissions match the NTFS
file permissions?

Also check that the user in question has "Access this computer from the network"
privilege.
