Share Access Database

I'd like to share an access database with my bookkeeper. She enters data,
runs reports. I create queries and reports for her to run. Splitting the
database doesn't seem to be a good idea in this instance. Help stated you
could share the entire database if you put it on a network server, which I
did. However, when she tries to launch the program while I'm in the
database, nothing happens and it won't open.

Older version had a multiuser choice.

Thanks for your help.

Split the database - this will make a front end with forms, reports, queries
and LINKS to the tables. This goes on your and your bookkeepers PCs.
The back end has the data - put it on the server (do that while running the
database splitter).
Now you can back use your front end to view/modify daya, and unless you both
choose to open the same record at the same time, there should be no problems
sharing.

Database splitting is an easy fix, but as always, make a copy before you do
it!
